Skin Product Review: Lush Bathbombs - Phoenix Rising & Space Girl.

So literally everyone knows about Lush and their incredible bath bombs. If you are yet to try one because you think they're overrated or you can't afford some, then I seriously suggest saving up and getting a few especially if you prefer baths over showers. I actually prefer showers over baths but recently I've been getting a lot of baths for relaxation purposes when I don't feel like washing my hair or when I'm having a quiet Saturday night in.

I've known about Lush for a few years but I never tried any of their bath bombs until early last year and I have fallen in love completely. They're all made of lovely natural ingredients and none of them are tested on animals which is always a good thing! So I'm going to review Phoenix Rising and Space Girl today and I'll definitely be reviewing more in the future.

Phoenix Rising
What's in it?
Sodium Bicarbonate,  Citric Acid, Icing Sugar, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides/PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Bergamot Oil, Cassia Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Perfume, *Cinnamal, *Citral, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 42090, Colour 77891, Colour 77491, Colour 77510, Frosty Holly Lustre, Gold Lustre and Cinnamon Stick. (*Occurs naturally in essential oils).

It also consists of two parts; a bath melt with some bubble bar mix and a bath ballistic.

My thoughts
First of all how gorgeous does it look? Purple is one of my favourite colours and this is such a thing of beauty. It was everything I expected and more! The scent was so strong that my mum could even smell it from downstairs so that may be overpowering to those who are particularly sensitive to smells whereas I'm not. Its scent consisted of cinnamon and a woody kind of smell which stayed on my skin hours after my bath. The oils and the Shea butter were perfect and really made my skin feel soft and clean. It's a perfect pick-me-up because it relaxes and calms you so it's perfect right before bed or for releasing your stress and worries.

It transformed my bathwater into a gorgeous deep purple and it was such a nice change from usual, boring water full of suds and foam! It fizzed for at least two minutes and it was so sparkly that I came out looking like a disco ball which I loved!

You can get it from Lush's site for £3.35

Space Girl
What's in it?
Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Grapefruit Oil, Bergamot Oil, Almond essential oil, Popping Candy, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, DRF Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, *Limonene, *Linalool, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Colour 17200, Colour 42053, Colour 14700 and Colour 77019. (*Occurs naturally in essential oils).

My thoughts
This one is just as equally beautiful, I love the shape of it and its representation of a planet or flying saucer. This was a little disappointing and very different to Phoenix Rising I have to say. It has a multi-layered smell which gives off a rather mature scent which will be either loved or hated by people. I found that it wasn't very pungent when I used it and definitely not when it was submerged in the water. It sort of dissolved very quickly and the smell disappeared after a while so it did not stay for the full duration of my bath so that was a bit disappointing. I also didn't experience any of the popping candy sounds and from what I've heard not many people have either.

But it does have some good qualities to it as the oils definitely moisturised my skin, although not as much as Phoenix Rising did, and it uplifted my mood and made me feel really relaxed and ready for bed.

It didn't transform my bath water very much compared to Phoenix Rising which I was gutted about especially as the bomb made my fingers all glittery and pink when holding it dry! It fizzed for about 5 seconds before dissolving completely. It only turned my bathwater into a pale violet and nothing more so I don't think I will buy this one again. It also stained my bathtub a little but nothing a bit of cleaning couldn't get rid of. But I would recommend it for your first bath bomb if you're a little hesitant to try them.

You can get it from Lush's site for £2.35

  1. Oooooh <3 I adore Lush's bath bombs very much since they are so theaureputic and fun to experiment various bath bombs to try out. :) I had Spacegirl but it didn't came in with the given picture rather I had was yellow/clear sparkles around it. I want to try out Phoenix Rising since it looked so nice when the bath water becomes violet and looking like a disco ball is fun for that moment! :D

  5. I got a Christmas edition bath bomb for Xmas, but haven't had the chance to use it yet because of my lack of a bathtub. I might get these as well for my vacation to Bali where I can finally use them!

  17. I've seen a lot of rave for lush bathbomb but never try it myself.
first because we dont have lush store here in my city and also because it's a bit pricey to use only one time xp.

but I always interested in it since people always raving that their bathbomb is a good product.
