Skin Product Review: Simple - Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash + Facial Scrub.

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. I am having the worst time ever with my skin at the moment. I am suffering a terrible breakout of spots which I'm tackling with these two Simple products which are my favourite things ever to use to clean and exfoliate my skin with. So I'll be reviewing them and suggesting them for anyone else who is perhaps having the same problems as me.

So as I said I'm currently suffering from an annoying breakout at the moment but I also suffer with oily skin which does not feel nice at all. It just feels like you're not clean enough and my skin is easily irritated by most things so I have to be careful with what I use, especially face washes. But I've been using Simple's range of skincare for a few years now, like their moisturiser, cleanser, toner and eye make up remover (which I've reviewed here and here if you want to check those out too) and I'm really impressed with how well they make my skin feel and look.

Now let's get into the actual review:

This is the Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash containing a 'blend of active ingredients' with two nutrients that do great for your skin: Witch Hazel - this reduces blemishes and Natural Zinc PCA - this gently absorbs oils. It also includes Pro Vitamin B5 which actively 'restores, softens and smooths' and there is, thankfully, no scent to it and no chemicals or colours that can upset your skin. It is dermatologically tested and approved which is always a good thing!

All I do with this product is squeeze about a 50p sized amount onto my hand and massage onto my wet skin until I feel happy that it is ready to be rinsed away. The Zinc PCA really does absorb all that excess oil and eradicates any unwanted shininess and that nasty feeling of greasy skin. The product contains no oils or soaps so it just nicely moisturises into my skin and removes the excess oils without drying out my skin.

After using this on and off for quite time now, I always notice the difference and it's amazing. This leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and oil-free! It's consistently good every time I use it and leaves my skin no longer having that greasy or oily feeling. This helps my breakouts immensely which is always a bonus obviously. Some people use it to remove make-up with, I don't do this personally but if you'd like to have a go, feel free to but beware of getting this in your eyes as it may sting if they're especially sensitive.

The packaging is pretty cute, lovely shades of blue blending into each other. The only slight problem I have is the price.. Simple is one of the, if not THE cheapest skincare range I've ever come across so I can sort of bypass this issue especially when sometimes there's a 3 for 2 offer on.

You can get this at Superdrug and Boots for £4.29

Next, the Oil Balancing Facial Scrub! Now this consists of more or less the same ingredients as the Wash but it also has Vitamin E and Rice Power in its mix too. All of these combine and 'exfoliate and cleanse your skin whilst gently absorbing excess oil and controlling shine'. It is a great product for removing dead skin cells, dirt and impurities so it's perfect to lessen the number of blackheads and blemishes on your face. Again there is no scent to it or anything else that irritate your skin.

Because this is a smaller bottle than the first product, I usually just squeeze roughly a 10p sized amount of the substance onto my hand and apply to my wet skin. Using my fingertips, I gently massage in circular movements paying particular attention to my cheeks and avoiding my eye area. It's important you do this gently as there are little beads in it which can make it feel rough if you rub really hard. Eventually I rinse away and apply moisturiser after as it can leave my skin feeling slightly dry.

It is great to use daily! It leaves my skin feeling really fresh and smooth. Perfect for acne-prone and oily skin like mine. It's not at all greasy like some scrubs can be, it's gentle and improves your skin texture completely.

Again, the only criticism I have is the price especially when I'm buying these products together and maybe with some other of Simple's stuff but nevertheless it's completely worth it.

You can also buy this at Superdrug and Boots for £3.99

You can check out more of Simple's skincare range on their site as well.

So those were my favourite exfoliating products to use.
Have you used these? What do you think of them?
Do you perhaps have any recommendations for me?

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Thankyou for reading.
